(Concrete availability at end of bio). Hi! My name is Lindsay and I am passionate about working with children. I began babysitting when I was a young child for my younger siblings. I had my first paid gig when I was 14. For the last 15 years or so I have worked with many different families with children of all ages. I like to bring in my professional experience in education and psychology when I care for children. After I graduated college, I worked at a Montessori school here in Denver for several years. I engaged in professional development opportunities to maintain up-to-date knowledge on interventions and teaching methods. After connecting with the school psychologist there, I decided to get my degree in School Psychology from the University of Denver. There, I learned a variety of counseling skills and social emotional interventions and treatment plans. Upon discovering my love of Read more one-on-one therapeutic work as well as social policy and advocacy, I decided to pivot and work towards my Masters in Social Work. I am a current student at MSU Denver; when I graduate, I hope to work in the clinical settings with children, families, and young adults (as well as advocacy and policy work). I am easy-going, patient, and fun! My values include curiosity, compassion, and connection. I believe children deserve respect and should be free to explore. I enjoy encouraging young minds to develop critical thinking skills and how to make their own informed decisions. In turn, they can grow up confident by establishing the foundation for self-esteem and trust. When I am not in school or at my internship, I enjoy singing and playing music.
