I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado, with a BA in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences and a minor in Linguistics. Since graduation, I have worked as a full-time nanny for two girls, ages 2 and 5, and as a one-on-one paraprofessional for a boy with special education needs in a preschool classroom. I presently hold two positions serving children: I work as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at Early Insights, and as a Self-Regulation Coach at Perspectives Center for Holistic Therapy. I have extensive experience working with children; listed below are my previous jobs related to childcare: and a brief description of each position: - Ahava Early Learning Center, Atlanta GA / Substitute Teacher : Work alongside Ahava teachers to lead classrooms of children from infancy into early childhood. I work with teachers to develop and implement activities to support educational play. I help craft programs for Read more children and their families to carry over classroom learning from school into the home. - Family in Boulder, CO / Summer Sitter Cared for two boys, ages 10 and 13; oversaw completion of household chores and summer academics; organizeded engaging activities; transportation; general housekeeping and daily errands. - Patterson Preschool / Speech-Language Pathology Assistant: Worked alongside a licensed Speech-Language pathologist to help deaf and hard-of-hearing preschool students in a speech and language capacity. - YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago / Day Camp Counselor: Worked as a professional role model for children ages 4-14. The position required: scheduling and planning a wide variety of day-to-day activities; keeping campers engaged and occupied throughout the day; organizing and overseeing camp field trips; and administering medication if needed. - First United Methodist Church, Boulder / Nursery Staff Member: Provide direct care to children ages 0-4.
