Hi there! I'm a 22 year-old Florida native and senior in college studying Mass Media and Communications, who recently moved to Boulder from Costa Rica. I am passionate about music, helping others, psychology and sociology, and enriching my life with meaningful experiences. I enjoy kids of all ages, and I've had the pleasure of working with them since the age of 14. My previous experience includes babysitting for family members, after-school care at the Boys & Girls Club of Mulberry, FL, and overseeing childcare at a hospital on a medical mission to Eastern India with Operation Smile. My favorite memories working with children come from my time spent in India, as I was able to successfully develop and nurture caring relationships with the native children despite cultural and language barriers. I am certified in CPR and Wilderness First Aid, and taught child nutrition, healthy dental care habits, and burn care Read more and prevention while on my travels in India. I love cooking, singing, exploring the great outdoors, literature, arts and crafts, theater, and I love to find creative ways to get kids actively engaged in any of these activities! Tutoring, cleaning, fixing healthy meals are just a few of the skills I can bring to table as a caregiver. I also love animals of all types, and would be happy to make sure all the family pets are cared for as well! On an interpersonal level, I have a soothing, approachable, and enthusiastic personality. I believe kids do best when they have strong but empathetic boundaries, and when they feel that their voices are being heard. I strive to lead and teach by example, and hope to inspire kids into actions rather than with fear. With a child-focused play style, I can easily access my inner child's spirit and relate to those still in their early, imaginative years of life.
