My name is Casey Malman and I am a junior at CU Boulder majoring in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. I am a fun-loving caretaker that enjoys doing activities outside, crafts, playing games, anything stimulating. I have a variety of experience working with children of different ages. I started babysitting family friends when I was about 13 years old and nannied for my 2 cousins for many years. I was a counselor at an overnight camp for 2 summers for girls ages 13 and 14. It was my responsibility to provide them with a safe and nurturing environment that allowed them to grow and develop in their two months away from home. This experience taught me how to entertain kids with activities that do not require the internet, TV, etc. I spent the summers of 2015 and 2016 at home working at a bilingual Daycare for children between ages 2 Read more and 7. Majority of these children were Bulgarian and in the process of learning both English and Bulgarian. Being a Speech, Language, and Hearing Science major, this was a great learning experience as I learned how to contribute to children's language development. The variety of experience I have had with children taught me how to work with them in many different situations. I love kids because I appreciate their silliness and innocence, while contributing to their growth and development by taking care of them and having fun with them.
