Experience: I have taken care of a 4 year old with ADHD for full-care service when he was kicked out of pre-school for being too disruptive. His parents agreed that he seemed to only listen to me. I treated him with kindness and he responded with a level of understanding that no other person was able to achieve before so. Also, I was able to help him manage his ADHD tendencies before he was medicated. He ultimately went back to a school setting and is doing great for himself. I have also taken care of a 10 month old boy and a 3 year old girl at the same time for several hours at a time. The girl was hyperactive for her age, but it was no problem for me. I have cared for the three of them (4yr old ADHD child included) at the same time before as well. Read more I have also taken care of a newborn child as a live-in when his mother was too tired. I would also take care of his nightly feedings when he was old enough to be bottle fed. In addition, I have also cared for his 4 year old brother - often at the same time. I am good with allergies as two of the children I have cared for have had severe allergies. I am good with diet restrictions as one of the children I have cared for had restrictions due to his medications. I am best with boys. I can change diapers and do feedings. I have bathed children before but do not have much experience bathing toddlers. I have no certifications, but have much experience. Should it aid any concerns, I have access to nurses at any given moment that can help me determine the severity of any issue - although, I am normally good at deciphering severity for myself.
