Hi, I am young at heart, active and energetic career retired woman. Not yet ready to "hangup" my working shoes. I have two grown sons, now 21 and 27. I am looking forward to grandchildren; however, that will not be happening for awhile. So, I decided to be a childcare provider. We all win with this relationship. I have twenty years in social work and twenty-one years as a professor in behavioral sciences. I have worked with all age groups and taught developmental psychology for many years. I am familiar and very comfortable with developmental needs of all child age groups. I come from a family of ten with over 30 nieces/nephews and another 30 plus great nieces/nephews. I "hang out" with my younger friends (previous co-workers) just to get my time with their children. I miss being with children of all ages. I am available immediately and have a Read more very flexible schedule. I do believe $12 per hour for one child is more than reasonable and $15 for two; however, I am willing to negotiate. Karen has watched my 7 year old daughter and 9 year old son several times, and I will definitely use her again. She is extremely reliable and prompt. She is good about playing and reading with them (instead of letting them watch TV). She helped my daughter finish her whole week's worth of homework in one evening. My kids really enjoy when she comes to watch them.

Karen is so delightful! She is punctual, flexible and always smiling. Our 1 year old loves hanging out reading, walking and playing with Karen. She is a great sitter/nanny and surrogate grandma.

In the words of my wife, Lindsey: Karen baby sat our 8.5 month old son for two mornings when I was called into work and my husband was out of town on business. She did a fantastic job. My son took to her right away and I came home to him happy and well taken care of. I will definitely call on her to baby sit again.
