Hello! My name is Kelsey, and I am ready to become your babysitter! I just moved to Denver from Durango, CO, and am hoping to find some families that are in need of sitters in the evenings and on weekends. A little about me: I am a 30 year old female that is back in school at the University of Colorado, Denver. I completed my BFA in Dance at the Hniversity of Minnesota, and am returning to school to get my prerequisites for Medical school. I currently instruct dance (ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop) at two dance studios in the Denver metro area for dancers ages 3-99! I also sling caffeine and cocktails at a local cafe, and am a research assistant in the Exercise and Behavioral Neuroscience lab at UC Denver. I am an avid yoga enthusiast, cat mom, hiker, and baker in my spare time. Experience: I began Read more babysitting at the early age of 10 for neighborhood families, where I realized that caring for children was something I was passionate about and something that came naturally to me. I continued to babysit through thigh school and college, and eventually became a live in nanny. My nanny job was located in Laren, North Holland, Netherlands, in which I cared for twin 5 year old boys for 7 months. Upon my return to the United States, I began instructing dance, and have been teaching for the past 8 years to children ages 2-99. My most prominent job working with kids was my time as the Program Director at The Boys & Girls Club (BGC) of La Plata County in Durango, CO. I began my time at the BGC as an Americorps Member, which is equivalent to the Peace Corps but in the United States. I was the BGCs Youth Outreach Coordinator, in which I directly served an average of 105 children a day focusing on various activities in the areas of health, academics, character, and citizenship. I was then promoted to the BGCs Program Director, in which i managed staff, resolved behavior issues, created all programs for our average attendance of between 100-170 kids per day, and so much more.
