I really enjoy being around kids because their creativity and eagerness to grow are inspiring. They remind me what life is about, so I'm always grateful for the opportunity to be around them! I grew up helping care for kids within my extended family and neighborhood. I was also a caregiver for a few years and two of my clients were kids, including one with special needs. For about two years, I volunteered at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in the Space Odyssey exhibit. It was such a unique and wonderful experience, with kids of all ages wanting to learn and not afraid to challenge me. Currently, I'm the Academic Program Coordinator at MSU Denver for the Biology department. We recently started a STEAM Team (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), and do a lot of outreach to children of all ages. We demonstrate various activities within the Read more STEAM fields and get the kids engaged by making activities hands-on. It's a wonderful experience!
