Being the first born, I had no choice in being a caregiver; I was immediately a natural! I started babysitting for my cousin when I was 10, family friends when I was 12 and have babysat for many many families since then. I taught dance lessons to kids ages 3-12 for six years so I know how to get kids to work well in large groups. I started a side business using my last name and called myself the "Baber-sitter" and I took care of cats, dogs, houses and kids. There is nothing that brings more joy to my life than the moment after having watched painfully the struggle of youth curiosity and then the second that it clicks and the learning process is complete. My most successful day babysitting was when I taught a 1 1/2 year old how to blow bubbles and his 3 year old sister how Read more to jump on one foot and to play hop-scotch. I was never allowed to watch TV or play video games growing up and I use the same guidelines for when I babysit. If you hire me as your sitter you can expect forts, coloring, singing, dancing, playing outside and being interactive in general! I also abide by the rule to leave a house in better condition than I found it in. I am an amazing cook and always do the dishes :) I have many references that I have racked up over the years, I'm always on time and I always put the kids first. (As in if you call me in a pinch and need a babysitter NOW, I will most likely stop doing what I'm doing and go out of my way to give the best care I can). You will not find me glued to my cell phone but instead reading a book with enthusiasm as to really portray the story to the kids. I am not currently CPR certified but have been multiple times in the past and have actually performed the Heimlich remover and other first aid crises while babysitting. Not that crises happen often, but when they do I'm a pro at staying calm, cool, collective and handling the situation in the proper way! I'm a very well-rounded, dedicated and experienced sitter and I think I would be perfect for when you want to have a date-night out!
