Hello! My name is Rachel Plum. I come from a family of six and love spending time with others. Over the years, I have been given opportunities to watch many different ages and types of kids. Within the last two years, I have watched the following families: Manu (age 7) and Tommy (age 5) - I watched these boys periodically for about six months during Summer and Fall of 2017. - Tommy was a very shy kid and his brother, Manu, had to help me with communicating to Tommy. Sebastian (age 5) and Niccoli (age 2) - I watched these boys over this summer (2018) with my younger 17-year-old sister. Niccoli was a nonverbal toddler. I communicated with Niccoli with nonverbal gestures. - Two babysitters were needed for these boys because both required extensive attention at once. Quinn (age 8), Jack (age 6), Rowan (age 4) - I currently watch Read more these kids regularly, starting this Summer 2018. All of these kids are great are generally do not cause any conflict with one another. - Jack has a speech impediment so communicating with him can be challenging. However, when I ask him to point to what he is talking about, I understand him and have learned to understand him more easily over the months. Rossi (age 8) and Hollin (age 5) - I have just started watching these two girls about two months ago. These girls are not difficult to watch and are fun to watch while also watching their dog. Timberline Church - Timberkids - I have been volunteering at Timberline Church since April, 2018. Over the last nine months, I have gained a wide variety of experience working with kids aged two to five years old. - I am responsible for five to twenty kids per service, depending on the service time and weekend. - I have learned how to communicate and engage with different types of children. Some of these kids are very shy, but they get along well with me since I can relate to shy kids. Other kids go to Nurture Care, where kids who are extra sensitive to crowds and noise can have a more private place to interact. Since Fall 2016, I was in progress to complete a Communication Studies degree at CSU. I have developed a strong sense of communication and interaction styles across different types of people and ages. With my babysitting and church volunteering experience, I feel confident to watch your children. I have recently received my First Aid and CPR certification from American Red Cross.
