I would love to have the pleasure of providing high-quality, reliable childcare services to you and the little ones in your life. I am a graduate of Palisade High School, and I currently attend the University of Northern Colorado. I am pursuing a degree in English with emphases in Secondary Education and Teaching English as a Second Language. I am looking to provide services as a date night, weekend, and other forms of part-time caretaker positions during the summer in Grand Junction during the months of May and July, and in Greeley during the month of June. I have worked in my church's nursery on a weekly basis as a child care assistant to my mother, a certified small group director, and preschool teacher, from 2012-2018. During summers 2015 and 2016 I worked as a childcare assistant for the Grand Junction Rockies. In this position, I supervised groups of up to 20 children with the goal of facilitating safe play in a volatile environment. In spring 2018 I taught as a substitute instructor at the Fred Tjardes School of Innovation in Greeley. This job provided me with the opportunity to engage students with diverse learning aptitudes, and the school’s Montessori-inspired curriculum allowed me to experience the impact of nontraditional learning environments on student success. Regardless of the age or quantity of children I care for, I prioritize connecting with each child personally to support their social-emotional wellbeing. I want the children I work with to feel comfortable and valued in my efforts to be a part of their world. I consider myself a highly active sitter, and I thrive on physically and fully engaging in play with children. As the oldest of 3 younger brothers, I refined my maturity and responsibility for the welfare of others at an early age. I am familiar with a chaotic household and maintain low levels of stress during tantrums, sibling fights, and illness alike. Child safety is at the forefront of my mind, and I am CPR, AED, and basic first aid certified by the American Safety and Health Institute.
