Growing up as a big sister, I learned how to take care of my younger brother through the influence and guidance of my mother. By grace, filled with love, patience, joy, compassion, and gentleness, my mom taught me how to take on the role of a caregiver and want the best for all children, no matter the circumstances or odds stacked up against them. While my mom has been a caregiver for children in the elementary classroom for over 20 years as a teacher, I hope to be a childhood therapist some day helping kids who have gone through very traumatic situations. I am currently a sophomore at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan studying International Development and Psychology. Throughout high school, I babysat for multiple families with kids within the age range of 2-13! I am very passionate about being active, having fun outside, playing games and sports, and Read more having adventures in the world of imagination! I love helping cultivate creativity and allowing kids to express who they are. I am an artist and have played piano for over 5 years. I love seeing the gifts that each child is blessed with and the unique ways they each bring life to this world. I also love animals and all pets! I have been trained through Red Cross and have experience with special needs children. For a year I swam with the Ridge Rec Center with a program that allows special needs children a chance to get in the water and play.
