Hello! My name is Jermane Hughes and I love what I do. I am passionate about teaching, helping, and watching children learn and grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have had years of experience with childcare, house sitting, and pet sitting with Families in Connecticut and Massachusetts (including my own). I am very adaptable, compassionate, and understanding. I am very clean and a bit of a germaphobe, but I am not afraid to get dirty (rolling down a hill, changing a dozen dirty diapers, helping a child blow his/her nose, wiping up spit up-- you name it!). I have no problem with helping keep the house clean and functioning. I choose to always be a responsible sitter because children are precious and are gifts to be treasured. My grandfather always said that my sisters and I were "precious cargo" and I apply that to every child. I am an early Read more childhood education and Spanish major with hours of field experience in early learning centers and in grades K through 5. I am familiar with curriculum and rules that I respect and will always follow. I have taken courses that teach about children with special needs and have also had experience with children with disorders. These include different levels of autism, mental and verbal disabilities, and ADHD. I have been able to be incorporated in inclusion classrooms and though the range of disabilities was limited, it was nevertheless a learning experience that can aid in working with children who have different types of special needs. *I am still learning Spanish but can communicate at a high intermediate level after living in the Dominican Republic from January-April of 2018. I am a happy, bubbly, energetic, outgoing, and fun babysitter who loves children! I love all children and I especially love babies. I can handle the crying, the pooping, the teething, the turn-around-for-two-seconds-and-now-everything-is-a-mess-after-I-just-cleaned-it-up... the everything. :) I am very well-rounded, professional, and playful... and I’m a girl with references!
