I absolutely love working with children! Coming from a large family, (with three younger sisters) I have been a care taker of children since the age of 11; I was alone babysitting a ten year old, a three year old, and a newborn regularly from the age of 13.  I have babysat for all kinds of families in the neighborhood for about twelve years. I have babysat for newborns to middle schoolers, families with boys and girls, and families with up to 4 children. I have also babysat children while the parents left for the weekend as well as traveled with families on vacation.  I am a member of the National Charity League, am active in my church and am active in my local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter. With the National Charity League I have volunteered regularly at homeless shelters, hospitals as well as with a group that Read more babysits children while the parents are taught to speak English. I also have been a regular volunteer at Eastbury Elementary School as well as Hopewell Elementary School in Glastonbury, CT as well as the Lutz Children's Museum in Manchester, CT.    I have a degree in Sociology from The Univeristy of Redlands, am a Certified Nursing Assistant and am currently working on my nursing degree. I am great with homework help, love to cook, have a wide variety of activities for all age groups and love to get the kids outside and playing around. I live an active lifestyle and love to get kids involved with sports from shooting hoops to playing catch. I also love the outdoors and love a good nature hike! If children are more inclined to stay inside I am great with crafts and board games as well.
