I've been watching/playing with children since I've been 12-years old. I am not married, nor have children--so I have become the "fun aunt" to my family/friends' children. I treat children as the little people they are--I speak directly to them as well as listen to them as I would a person of any age. My friends' children consider me their friend too--although I am a responsible caretaker before I am a "buddy." A child's well-being, health, and safety is my ultimate concern. I am very fun and friendly, but I also know when I need to "say no" or give a "time out" to a child. I like to have a good time and I can be silly with the best of them--but I also believe in intelligent play so the child can learn while having fun. I am a freelance editor/writer by trade, so if you would like me Read more to work with your child on reading, writing, (or any other subject), I'd be happy to. I've passed every swim instruction level up to lifeguard--so your child will be safe with me. I can also help teach him/her different strokes, how to float, etc. If you need light housekeeping done--I don't mind doing dishes, putting away the dishes from the dishwasher, laundry, cooking, and picking up. I also like to go food shopping (weird, I know), so I'd be happy to do that for you too. I also LOVE animals--so if you have a cat, dog, bird, hamster, fish, lizard, etc--you can count on me to take care of them. I am a "big sister" to a 10-year old girl from Bridgeport whom I see on the weekends and I believe that education as well as having a positive role model is essential to becoming a responsible adult.
