I started babysitting the summer of 2007 for my two younger cousins who were 7 and 5. I spent three days a week at their house and supervised their activities and feed them breakfast and lunch. I babysat them for four years until they were old enough to watch themselves. In 2011, I started to babysit a special needs boy after school. I spent time playing with him and feeding him an afternoon snack while his caregiver was at work. Currently, I am babysitting a young boy with Down syndrome on an as needed basis. I had the opportunity in 2013 to volunteer at Kidspace Adaptive Play, a local pediatric wellness center. I assisted the recreational therapist with the special needs children in their therapy sessions. It inspired me to decide on a major, and I am at school for Occupational Therapy with the hope to work with pediatrics.
