Hello! My name is Maria and I am a college senior pursuing my degree in elementary education. After graduation I plan to pursue a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I have worked with children since I was a kid myself and have always been passionate about childcare and education. I have nannied for infant twins, toddler twins, school age siblings (age 9 and 12), and was a teacher in a daycare where I worked with children from 6 weeks to school age. My toddler classroom in the center had two sets of twins. Therefore, I am very experienced with multiples and siblings. My first nanny family was twin boys that I was with from 10 weeks old until 14 months old, and I still babysit for them regularly. I have stayed in touch with all of my past nanny families and daycare students and still babysit for date nights! As Read more an elementary education student, I have done two semesters of fieldwork in kindergarten classrooms and one in a second grade classroom. I am very experienced in lesson planning, as well as organizing informal educational activities based on each child's developmental stage. I love making crafts, playing outside, and singing songs! As part of my degree, I have taken many classes on child development and early childhood, which means there is a developmental or educational reason for every activity I bring to my nanny children! This varies from fine motor skills and gross motor skills, to beginning stages of literacy such as letter recognition or phonemic awareness. I am also available for tutoring. I am always available for one-time or date night sitting as well. My current availability is part time (afternoons and full day Fridays) in June, and full time in July and August. I have my own vehicle (it does fit car seats) and I am comfortable with any and all pets. I am also trained in Medication Administration, First Aid and CPR for infants, children and adults.
