I am currently attending the University of Connecticut and am in the School of Nursing beginning my junior year. I hope to one day work in the field of pediatrics as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. I also volunteer at a Connecticut Children's Medical Center with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers as an Artreach and research volunteer. I have always loved kids and genuinely enjoy being around them. I come from a large family and am the second oldest on both sides. It has given me lots of experience taking care of kids throughout the years, from tantrums to down time. I not only have experience watching children in my family and in the clinical setting, but in a babysitting setting as well. I watched an 8-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy this summer 2 days a week, 8 hours a day. We played games, did arts and crafts, I prepared meals, Read more and watched their dog. I also watched a family with three kids, three days a week, 6 hours a day for a summer. I fed them both breakfast and lunch, got them dressed and ready for the day, took them to the park and other extracurricular activities. I have also watched a family of two from the time they were 10 to the time they were 16, mostly on weekends for date nights or overnight for weekend getaways. I have fed the children, gotten them up and ready, and put them to bed. We have gone to the movies, to the mall, or the local amusement park for activities during the day. I have worked with a wide variety of age groups from infants to 14 years olds, and I genuinely love working with them all. I am flexible with working with what is comfortable with you as a parent and what works for your child. I have my own car on campus for transportation and am mostly just looking for date nights or weekend times that your child needs to be cared for during my time at school.
