I absolutely love kids -- I've been working with children in a variety of capacities since I was young, and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in school psychology so I can help improve the lives of the little guys out there :) I was born and raised in West Hartford, but lived in Boston for five years during which I completed my undergraduate education at Boston University, and subsequently worked as a first grade teacher's assistant at a private school in Brookline, MA. During the interim years before attending graduate school, I completed an internship in the children's hospital in Hartford, worked as a nanny part-time for a friend's then 4-month old baby, and oversaw the student activities' programming for a local private high school. During my high school years, I cofounded a highly successful backyard day-camp for children ages 2-5, running it for four consecutive summers with a Read more close friend of mine. Currently, I am a graduate student in the School Psychology program at the University of Hartford. In May 2013 I received my master's degree in School Psychology, with a specialization in clinical child counseling. I am now working towards completing the Sixth-Year certificate and endorsement for professional certification as a school psychologist. Upon completion, I hope to work as a licensed school psychologist on the elementary school level. In sum, I have essentially not stopped caring for children since my first job as a mother's helper at age 12 (I am now 28), and truly love each and every child as if he/she were my own. I am committed to the safety, security, comfort, and happiness of the children I care for, and will not let anything stand in the way of that.
