Currently, I am a part time student. I have been caring for high energy dogs for 10 years and high energy children for five. While growing up, I took care of all the neighborhood children, 6 boys, two in each family. I finessed my skills at legos, hotwheels, and tag. More recently, I was taking care of two teenage boys, 13 and 15, whose parents had seperated and were going through emotional turmoil. I helped the younger one learn to really enjoy school by creating fun projects and engaging in work. The older one, was more difficult, but I set boundaries and was able to get him to engage in basketball and baseball. I am a true believer that patience, consistency, involvement and respect are the most effective ways to helping children learn. I don't believe in setting children infront of the TV, I believe that video games should only Read more be played for at max, an hour a day. I believe in reading to young children and letting them fall in love with books such as "the Chronicles of Narnia" or "the Hobbit." I believe in playing games because the teach lessons that children will never learn n a classroom, such as how to win, how to lose, how to just play for the sake of the game and to always try your best.

Julie was very reliable, and picked up my two girls ages 5 and 9 twice a week after school. She had lots of energy playing with both my children and my 8 month old puppy. Julie gave my older daughter help with her homework and was also available to drive the girls to after school activities and prepared snacks and simple meals. She was a great help to me and my family!

Julie is amazing. She always has creative ideas for entertaining my 3 little ones ages 2,2, and 4. She takes them for walks and takes them swimming. The kids are always nice and tired after spending a day with Julie and they sleep well. She also reads them stories before nap time. She is very patient with three young children who can be a handful!! Highly recommend this energetic babysitter.
