As young as ten years old I was caring for neighbors' young children or pets, tending to their needs and providing a fun and/or enriching experience. As I grew older, I provided extended care for my toddler niece and dogsit for traveling neighbors. During my summers in high school, I was a camp counselor at a Boy Scout camp, teaching campers aged 11-17 the marvels of nature or the skills that can save lives and ensure survival in the wilderness. Later earning my Eagle Scout Award, I maintained significant responsibilities and became CPR and First Aid certified by the Red Cross (these certifications have expired, but my skills have not). I really enjoy working with children and love getting to know the quirks and qualities, providing for their individual needs, and having fun with them.
