I started working with children as a sophomore in high school in Wilmington, Delaware at my school's aftercare program for children ages 2-14. The best part of my day became visiting my fun and spunky kids at aftercare, so for the next two summers I worked as a camp counselor at our school day camp, running programs and activities for groups of 5-12 children at a time. After moving to DC to attend American University, I missed the relationships and connections I had with the kids and their families, so I started to babysit occasionally for families in the area. I've worked as an after camp driver/babysitter for multiple families with children ages 6-14 in the summers, and as a regular weekly sitter for a family with a 5 month old during the school year. I also occasionally babysit for families with children ages 18 months-7 years. After studying abroad Read more in the Netherlands in the fall of 2015, I am eager to return to DC and meet new families to begin relationships with for babysitting! I am a junior studying literature and psychology as a part of AU's honors program, and I hope to attend graduate school to become a school psychologist. For the spring of 2015, I will also be serving as a Resident Assistant for American University to further develop my leadership skills.
