Hello! My name is Rose, and I am originally from Verona, New Jersey. I completed my master's degree (MLA) from Boston University in May 2015 and moved here to DC for a job in January 2016. I currently work 9-5 at Feeding America, a hunger-relief non-profit in downtown DC. I have extensive childcare experience and I've always been told I am wonderful with kids (in addition to loving being in their company!) and I feel that I am able to relate to children of many ages. As far as experience goes, I first started mother's helping when I was 10, was babysitting on my own by the age of 12, and continued to babysit all through high school and college. After graduating college, I worked for a year as a full-time volunteer high school teacher, and then took on a full-time position as a nanny for 3 boys (4-year-old twins Read more and a 2-year-old). I have spent the most time with children from ages 2-7, and have grown as a caregiver with that age group. However, I have also had plenty of experience with infants as well as pre-teens. I feel comfortable in many settings (the classroom to the playroom) and am happy to be involved in any scheduled activities kids I care for may have. I do not really have specific babysitting philosophies, but I work hard to follow parents' expectations to the very best of my abilities. I know how important it is to trust a caregiver, and I'm always happy to be in communication as often as parents would like. I value and encourage all kinds of imaginative and creative games or activities over TV and computer (I dance with Joy of Motion dance center and am pretty active myself), although some movies and shows here and there are a good change of pace! Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to talking with you soon! Very best, Rose
