Hi! My name is Kelly. I have been around children of all of ages the majority of my life. My first experience working with kids was when I was 14 and I volunteered at my old daycare. Work is/was not the only time I was with kids. I was an aunt at the age of 8 and just adored my new nephew. My first actual job right out of high school was at a handicap school for kids ranging in ages infancy to adult hood. I had volunteered there every summer until I was old enough to work. My mom has been there for 33 years. It's a great school and I miss it quite often. While working at the school, we had in-service days where we had to attend workshops. They taught us crisis prevention, CPR certification (no longer valid), and how to come up with and prepare lessons/activities. Read more For the majority of my time there I was in a day training room where all the kids were in wheelchairs and we had to physically lift and move them every 45 minutes. I was a nanny to a wonderful 9 month old little girl and her older sister who is 7. I have been good friends with their mother for a couple years. The older sister I have been watching for quite awhile. She would come here after school and we would have a snack and do homework. I was their nanny for a year and a half until their mother became a stay at home mom. I like to follow a routine everyday. So if you do not have one, I hope it won't be a problem if I make one. I love to be organized and plan ahead.
