I started off my career in Early Childhood as a babysitter in the 8th grade. Since then, I have gained valuable experience and knowledge of working with children. While in high school, I was enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program all four years, learning child development as well as preschool teaching methods. By the time I finished high school, I had received my National Child Development Associate (CDA), Early Childhood Professional Certificate, 30 hour preschool certification from the Dept. of Children and Families, CPR/First Aid training, and Preschool/Infant/Toddler Appropriate Practices trainings. During those same high school years, I babysat for multiple families regularly with 1-4 children. The children in these families ranged from newborns all the way until teenagers. When I entered college, I taught three year-olds part time in a laboratory teaching preschool while studying Elementary Education at a local community college. All at the same time, I Read more babysat for regular families that knew and trusted me with their children for years. During the summers, I nannied for an extended family with 15 grandchildren and managed their meals, activities, schedules, and entertainment. When I transferred to a university, I stayed in touch with the families I babysat for as well as started a job at USF Preschool for Creative Learning as an Assistant Teacher in the VPK classroom. I graduated from USF in December 2013 with an Elementary Education Bachelor's degree and began a job as a first grade teacher. Since then, I have begun my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. For the past eight years, I have spent my time playing with, taking care of, and learning about young children and I could not imagine choosing a better field!
