I just retired from DCF where I was stationed at the Lecanto Main Health Dept. I assisted clients (elderly, disabled, and mentally impaired) in filling out applications and informing them of other benefits that may be available to them. For 10 years I was a residential property appraiser. I entered people's homes to do an inspection to determine value. While there, I often listened to the client's problems ( HIV client; parents with brain-disabled daughter; wife whose husband committed suicide in the living room ). Of course, I offered no advise other than the time it took to listen.
