They say that every career that you're passionate about has a personal story. I would like to share mine with you. When I was only in 8th grade I lost my baby sister to a disorder. Wanting to understand more about special needs, I began to volunteer in a special needs classroom when I was in high school. I worked in the classroom for 3 years. In that classroom I assisted a little boy with Down syndrome, and other children with mild developmental delays. Fast forward to when I found the little boy that I worked with for 2 & 1/2 years, I have developed good understanding of autism, the proprioceptive system and sensory disorders. I have training on alternative communication and know some sign language (not fluent).
