I recently moved to Florida from Connecticut a little over a month ago with my boyfriend Bryan. He received a great job offer down here as an environmental engineer and so we had to take it! The move has been exciting and challenging. As a college student new to the area I took the first job I was offered; serving at Red Lobster. After a couple of weeks of working there I realized that I was not happy in the food service industry anymore (5 years prior experience with food service). So I dug deep and really thought about what I enjoy doing and then with ease it hit me - I love caring for others, I love helping people out when they need it, I love kids - and that is what has lead me to this website. I started out in my college career in hopes to be Read more a kindergarten teacher. I studied early childhood education for two years. Then it came time in my curriculum to take a mandatory science with a lab course. I thought "oh great". That course changed my whole perspective on my future and what I wanted out of life. I developed a strong passion for science and have now switched gears into science education. Science opened me up to a better understanding of myself and the world around me. In my younger years I used to babysit the kids in my neighborhood while the adults ran errands or went out for a bite to eat - and I loved it. When my dad and step-mom got divorced I watched over my little brothers constantly and felt this sense of fulfillment knowing that I could cook and help them out with anything such as homework or transportation. I felt needed and I truly enjoyed it. As a professional, I can not put any babysitting jobs down on my resume due to the fact that it was mostly family and friends that I looked after and I was young and barely got paid anyways but I know I have what it takes, and would honored to take on that role of a caregiver again. I am CPR/First aid certified and am active ! I played ice hockey since I was 5 years old and love all sports. I have a car and have no problem cooking meals!
