Hello! I am a junior at the University of South Florida and I am studying geology. In 6th grade I began volunteering at Anchor Academy Daycare near Orlando FL. I volunteered as a teacher assistant until 10th grade and logged around 250 hours. My typical duties involved reading to children (typically a class of 15 three-six year olds), taking them out for recess, talking to the parents, and keeping them entertained throughout the day. In high school I spent each summer at a middle school band camp as an assistant flute teacher. I assisted the children in advancing their playing skills and helped them learn to read music. Lastly, I completed over 100 hours of community service at the Orlando Science Center. I interacted with young children and helped them engage in scientific activities while providing a fun and educational environment.
