On a personal level, I love children and have been a caregiver most of my life. I began at the age of ten years old when I started night-time babysitting to earn spending money. I regularly cared for most of the children in my neighborhood. As an adult, I married and later became a single parent raising four beautiful, now grown daughters. I am happy to say I am also the grandmother of 10 awesome grandchildren ranging in ages from 4 months to 16 years old. They gladly help me to stay current in the interests and activities of today's children. On a professional level, while raising my daughters, I worked and attended college obtaining a BA in Special Education, BA in Interdisciplinary Social Science and MS in Counseling / Psychology. For most if my life I have helped in the area of advocacy work assisting abused women and children, Read more as well as, worked in the educational profession teaching children in the public school system. I am current with my Florida teaching certification and my victim advocacy designee certification. I have had a recent background check done as I also substitute in both Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. I wanted to relay this professional information to assure you that your child or children will be safe with me as I have experience many level of concerns that most parents worry about, as well as personal information that might also help you to understand the longevity of my gaining of knowledge to help children.
