I have been a full-time nanny for 12 years, & have loved every minute of it! I only recently stopped working, to stay home and have my first child. I primarily worked with toddlers, although I do have experience with all ages, and have worked in a variety of childcare settings such as daycares and summer camps. I am energetic and enthusiastic, & always plan fun/educational activities to make the most of our days together. I like to stay active, and prefer not to sit the kids in front of the TV all day. My goal is to be an extension of the parents, and assist them in raising confident, motivated, and kind hearted children. My parenting style is a mix of authoritative and (true) gentle parenting. I am big on setting and upholding firm but reasonable boundaries, and setting clear expectations for what is acceptable behavior. I use natural Read more consequences whenever possible, and spend a lot of time making sure feelings are heard, validated, and worked through. I am extremely passionate about helping families to not only ensure their childrens safety, but to also help raise well rounded and well adjusted children, who are given the necessary foundation to continue to thrive throughout life. I have worked with numerous local families over the past 12 years who would be happy to provide references. My daughter Ava was born in May of 2021, and is a happy and well behaved toddler. She has been speaking in sentences for over a year, and loves to make new friends. We have had no behavioral issues as of yet. We stay active and prefer to play outdoors for a large part of the day, water and sand play are some of our favorites. I also enjoy dojng arts and crafts and sensory play, and we love to use our imagination for pretend play. We regularly make trips to local zoos, The Science Center, Crayola experience, Parks and splash pads, etc. I am happy to take the kids on day trips, but am fine with staying at your house if preferred. I have open availability for positions that would be ok with me bringing my daughter along, Full-time or Part-time availability. Ava is quite advanced in the way that she engages, so we would be fine spending time with an elementary aged child. She also enjoys playing with other toddlers, and likes to 'take care of' younger babies, and has done well in a similar position we had last year.
