"I have been taking care of babies since I was a baby".. is a little catch phrase I say when talking about my experience with children. I have been very blessed with the amount of experience I have, starting off with helping my mother at a very young age. She has always been working in days cares and/or nannying so I was able to understand from that young age what kind of responsibility it takes to care for a child. As i got a little older I was able to babysit the children my mom was nannying independently, if needed; and that went on for quite a few years. At around ages 11-14 I was always volunteering at my church for their summer camps, festivals and child care during services. When I got to High school I had the pleasure of having a "Teachers Aid" class which allowed me to Read more go to the elementary school next door. Having that opportunity allowed me to find my passion for special needs children (although my experience is still very limited). During high school i also got my first job, which you guessed it; was being an after school pre-school teacher at Small Talents Academy! I loved that job! It taught me so much about the actual structure kids need to succeed; which included activities, playing out side, potty training, table manners and so much more! After that i did two full summer camps at the North Penn YMCA in Pennsylvania and at the age of 23 i was blessed to find my "latest" child care experience; which was being the Saturday teacher at Gymboree! I am also blessed now to have three nieces and one nephew whom i adore!
