I have had the pleasure of working with children throughout my adult life. I substitute taught for sixteen years in Michigan after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. then worked as a nanny for eight years for a family with two girls, ages nine and twelve, until they grew up and left home for college. Thereafter, I taught in Florida for three years in both Gilchrist and Brevard counties. I thoroughly enjoyed my teaching experience in these school systems, although I receive more satisfaction and fulfillment working on a one-on-one basis as a caregiver for children and their families. Currently I have been working for over a year and a half for a family whose little girl was 3 months, and twin brother and sister were 4 years old when I started. Their work and school schedules have changed, so I am again seeking full-time employment with supplemental positions Read more during the day or night, weekends, date nights and overnight stays. My schedule is very flexible, should you need extra help. As a babysitter, I facilitate all aspects of the household, including housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, etc., since I dislike being idle. I have my own car and a clean driving record, so errands, drop-offs and pick-ups are possible. I am honest, reliable, loving, lots of fun and have a calm, energetic, positive spirit. I was in Drama throughout grade school, and have a major in Science and a minor in Art, so I enjoy doing hands-on science, art projects and play-acting with children, gearing the experience to the child's age and development. I also love to read, recite songs and word plays, story-tell, and have many favorites that encourage a love for these things. The children and I enjoy reading together, cooking together, outdoor activities such as nature walks and beach-combing, sports, art projects and games. I provide children with enriched, hands-on learning activities in a personal and nurturing environment and we all have a lot of fun.
