Many new families that have moved into my neighborhood block throughout the years have all had young children. Since my neighbors are very close with one another, in eighth grade I started out as a mother's helper. Then, by tenth grade, I started babysitting for almost all the children on my block. By summer going into my junior year of high school, I realized how fun it was working with kids, helping with homework, and making them laugh or smile. So I decided to apply for a summer day camp counselor job in Great Neck. That summer, I worked with twenty-four young girls ages 4-6. It was absolutely one of the best summers I have ever had. Their moms started calling me about babysitting after camp or on weekends and I had no problem doing it! I loved my job so much I actually went back the following summer and Read more worked as a head counselor for boys ages 4-6 years old. They were just as amazing as my girls from the previous year. I also started babysitting for the boys in my free time as well. After my freshman year at FSU, I went back home to New York for the summer and was a nanny for a family with 4 children ages 4-12. I was with them 5 days a week Monday-Friday from 8am-7pm. I took them to their activities like tennis and theatre school. I also took them to the community pool, birthday parties, cooked them dinner, put them to bed, and watched their friends as well when they would have playdates. A few years after graduating college, I am working remotely back on Long Island. I am currently free on weekdays starting around 3 pm usually until whatever time needed until at night. I am also available on weekends as long as it is planned in advance! I'm so excited to start babysitting again!
