My name is Megan Lightfoot and I am a student attending Florida State University, double majoring in psychology and music therapy. I have been babysitting my little sister all my life but started babysitting for other families 5 years ago. I babysat for an autistic child and his older sister for 3 years and am comfortable with children who have autism and ADD/ADHD. I am a violinist and have used some concepts of music therapy with children that I babysit with the permission of the parent or guardian. I currently babysit for two young high energy girls who are 3 and 4, and have babysat brothers ages 6 and 7, siblings ages 11 and 13, twin infants age 2, and everywhere in between. I am comfortable with up to 3 children depending on the age, but have babysat for up to 5 at once. I love animals, and have a Read more dog myself that I care for. I am allergic to cats, but only in excess (5 or more). I have over 1200 hours of community service on record through my work with Volusia County Schools and church pertainig to my music. I have some understanding of spanish as I have taken 3 years of it, but am by no means fluent. When I was younger, I had a favorite babysitter, and I liked them because they made it fun. They engaged my sister and I in activities that we enjoyed. We never wanted them to leave and we always wanted that specific babysitter back. That's what kind of babysitter I try to be. I am skilled in building pillow forts, I have watched too much Dora the Explorer to count, I have been a knighted soldier and princess when called upon, done more random dance moves than I care to admit, read many bedtime stories with lullibies to follow, and have made countless funny faces that I would never let anyone over the age of 10 see. I believe that the time spent with a babysitter should be something looked forward to, not dreaded, so I do all that I can to be the best babysitter I can be while continuously practicing responsibility in every aspect of my life.
