Hello, my name is Samantha. I'm 22 years old; very energetic and crafty! I have been caring for children from infancy to 13 years of age over the span of 10 years. I have extensive experience in caring for children who have learning disabilities and/or behavioral issues such as but not limited to, Autism, ADD, ADHD, ODD, etc. I have a very high patience level along with being able to demonstrate "the better way" to the children. EX. Child is wanting cookies and chocolate milk..i don't just start with saying "no" because children have a hard time understanding why they can't..so i begin with how about one or the other. That method usually always works in any situation. I'm the same way with disciplining children. EX. Either this happens or this will be the outcome. Again that method usually works better than "go in timeout" or taking something away for Read more bad behavior. Compromise is key! I believe that fully being able to communicate with a little person rather then shutting them out opens up a different door moving into early to late childhood and helps to build confidence. I recently graduated college in early 2013; and majored in Medical Administration. Currently my career has switched fields..I'm now in the Real estate/Leasing industry. I have many references upon request..family and non-family. I have been babysitting since i was 10 starting with family, the progressing onto friends of family and now by word of mouth!. Almost three years ago i began working with an 8 year old whose now 10 on a monthly basis. One, whom also struggles with behavioral and learning disabilities. I also care every Monday for a 5 month old since she was only 1 month old. My schedule is as follows: Mondayy-Friday: Open after 6pm. Saturday: Open Sunday: Open.
