Instead of pursuing a career in engineering/construction management, I have chosen a long-term employment in childcare. With a few decades of working with infants and toddlers, I am considered a "baby whisperer". Over the years, a few toddlers have called me "mommy"! ... Currently, I work full-time as a lead staff in the Play Center (childcare) at the Alpharetta Family YMCA for 22 years (been working here since March 1998). I am responsible for the member's children, ranging in ages from 3-month old infants thru 12-year old preteens. I ensure the Play Center is well-kept, operating efficiently and safely. My previous additional job responsibility at the Y: a) after-school childcare staff b) summer day camp staff and bus driver c) after-hours and lock-in staff d) youth soccer referee and field staff e) adult co-ed volleyball staff. Also, I currently work as a Sunday Mass nursery staff (side job) at Saint Read more Brigid Catholic Church. I became a permanent volunteer-staff in November 2006. Then I convert to a part-time staff in August 2008 (been working here for almost 12 years). ... Some of my traits: responsible, trustworthy, dependable, caring. An easygoing, nice and fun guy, but must follow the rules! I am planning to step down to part-time status at the Y, thus I will be seeking supplemental work. Bonus: I am a decent general handyman (non-technical); proficient in hand tools, woodworking, painting, assembling, etc.
