Being the oldest sibling to two sisters and a younger brother, I have always had a inate ability for care giving and have always enjoyed the responsibility. I have a passion for helping others, which is what led me into the field of Social Work. I am 23 years old and I am a recent graduate of the UGA School of Social work and intend to further my studies next year, earning my MSW. I truly love working with children of any developmental stage in various capacities. I have been a nanny for 6 years and have cared for many different families. For the last year and a half I have worked with a boy who is on the Autism spectrum. I have cared for larger families of 3 children, one with twins (age 7), and I have also cared for a baby (6 months), as well as toddler and Read more preschool ages. I believe that I am skilled at communicating with and understanding children on their level. My knowledge of children and families has immensely grown from my studies at UGA and through two internships. Two years ago, I interned at Wellspring Living, a non-profit residential program for teen girls who are survivors of domestic sex trafficking. This past year, I was an intern at a child advocacy center, The Tree House, where I documented and supervised visitations between parents and their children in a safe space. I also did one on one parenting with clients through the agency’s parenting program curriculum. Here was where I learned about family dynamics and ensuring the safety and well-being of a child. My experiences have taught me the value and joy to be found in working with children and families. Being a nanny, you have many hats that you wear; I am a great tutor, playmate, mediator, mentor and counselor, team player, best friend, and caretaker. I think your kids will not only have fun with me, but they will also always be in safe care!
