I have four children, all married and 6 grandchildren. For the last 2 1/2 years, I have been driving to Birmingham to babysit my youngest grandson. My daughter is a nurse practitioner at UAB. He is now in preschool and has a sitter for the afternoons. While I don't miss the drive (170 miles each way), I miss taking care of him. We spent our mornings at the botanical gardens or the zoo...basically anywhere OUTSIDE, weather permitting. My previous "real" jobs have been working for an orthopedic surgeon (Dr. Joe Tatum. Retired) as his front and back office assistant and for Dr. Christopher North as a front office assistant. I have had regular CPR training for those jobs, but I don't have a current certificate. I love snuggling and rocking. I have to confess that I don't believe in letting babies cry.
