My name is Hillaby Banniister and this is my second year as a first grade teacher here in Charlotte, NC. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I majored in elementary education, and I am currently attending classes to receive my masters in elementary education from Gardner Webb University. I have been caring for children since I was around 12 years old. I started out helping my mom with my younger sister around the house, and then I expanded to watching my sisters friends, and I now help out friends and family with children ranging from the ages of 2-14. Currently I have no children of my own, so when I am not in the classroom I enjoybeing nannying and babysitting. I enjoy helping with homeowork, teaching the fundamentals of reading and writing, having fun, or even just being a friend that children can tell their stories.
