Hello Families! My name is Stephanie, I am a 28 years old. Here is a detailed description of my childcare experience (including ages). EXPERIENCE: Caring for children has been something throughout my life that I have always had a natural talent or gift for. My passion, enjoyment, and learned understanding in caring for children, is largely what has led to my success and capability with them. I believe children, in a way, can sense wether people have these, and similar qualities, or not. These qualities are important and necessary in order to build a connection and bond. Bonds with children grow overtime and eventually trust, respect, protection, and friendship. Hence the word parents repeat in their heads multiple times a day, "patience." Other qualities I posses, that I believe would help me succeed as an au pair, are being responsible, timely, reliable, outgoing, friendly, dedicated, and open minded. Professionally, I have worked as a teachers aid for an after school program, caring for children ages 5 to 10. This company also ran a daycare program in which I also worked, caring for infants up to toddler years (3 months to 4). I also worked (4 years) as a summer counselor, being responsible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for a group of 9-13 girls, ranging in ages from 9-17. These week long sessions continued back to back for 2 months. Personal experience consists mostly of babysitting and nannying. These were my primary sources of income from the ages 13 to 17. My other personal experience was international, I have been to Kingston, Jamaica caring for children at a local clinic and visiting an orphanage daily. I have also worked with children in Gauthier, Haiti both as a teachers aid, and also a loving friend, and figure.
