My name is DeJa Cornelius. I'm 19 years old and a student at Agnes Scott College. I am a very kind, loving, cheerful person. I love children. I feel that there's nothing more heartwarming than a child's laughter and smile. I am a very diligent student; I'm pursuing a degree in biochemistry and public health. I love to be active and I am very appreciative of the arts. I danced for four years in high school. I was the captain of a team of 10 girls. I gained a lot of leadership experience as well as mentoring skill for girls my age and younger. I also played the trumpet for five years. I really enjoy playing outdoors games with kids and making sure that kids stay active in some type of way. I have babysat and cared for children ranging from ages 3 months - 12 years old. I have Read more proficient knowledge in caring for children, cooking, cleaning, and games/learning activities. I believe that a child's mind is the most precious thing and should be nourished with knowledge. I enjoy teaching my younger cousins basic Spanish (such as the alphabet, colors, foods, numbers, etc.), alphabets, colors, math, science, etc. I have also tutored children ranging from Pre-K - 9th Grade. I have also worked as a Pre-K - Kindergarten teachers’ assistant. The job called for me to read the children, construct mind enriching activities, direct the children to breakfast and lunch, handle disputes in an appropriate matter between the children if one ever arose, and settle the children for naps.
