Well for starters my name is Tami and I am a single 33yr old college graduate that has yet to start a family of my own. I have recently decided to put money concerns aside and take a leap of faith and go back to graduate school to pursue a Masters in Psychology! While awaiting acceptance into the program, I have decided to branch out of my comfort zone of retail and management and go back to my original passion... children! I grew up in a small family with 1 brother who is 18 months younger than I. We grew up as best friends, never heeding to the stereo typical brother sister quarrels that most siblings seem to endure during adolescence. He's since blessed me with the AWESOME title of AUNT TAMI, giving me 2 nephews(12&8) and 2 nieces(4&6) to spoil rotten!! I grew up in childcare my entire life Read more and found myself working at several different daycare facilities once I was able to join the work force. In addition to working with children of all ages while employed at various daycares as a lead teacher, I have also been the lifeguard, dance instructor and finished up as a Pre-K Lead Teacher. As a little girl, I literally grew up in the dance studio! I've been a dancer since I was 3, and continued taking classes as a student for 20+plus years; even after becoming an instructor at 14. I've taught everything from tap to ballet, to jazz, to gymnastics, to clogging, to hip-hop, ballroom, and yes, even country-western line dancing! I especially enjoyed leading my "mommy and me" classes, comprised of basic rhythmnastics movements for 2&3yrd olds. Needless to say, I have literally been around children my entire life, in one arena or another. I quickly learned that children were/are my greatest audience and getting to be a positive role model in their lives is such an honor! I was a M-F nanny with my last family for 7&1/2months (only to be let go because the mom had finally recovered from her major knee surgery, and was able to take back the roll of being "super mom!!") The family consisted of one 4yr old boy, one 2yr old boy and a new born baby girl! They were as close as family could get without being related and I was sad to leave them...but it's time to help out another family now...so if I haven't talked your ear off yet and you have any questions for me about anything...please feel free to ask!
