Hello! My name is Altrice Hardy. I am a former elementary educator. My Bachelor of Science degree is in elementary education, grades K-6. My peers nominated me as 2nd runner-up for Teacher of the Year at Arbor Springs Elementary School in Coweta County Georgia. While in high school in the summer, I worked as a baby sitter for an attorney that worked as a Legal Analyst for the State Legislature of Alabama. I took care of her two nieces from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They were ages 8 and 11. As a college student, I served as a Sunday school teacher, mentor and camp counselor for at risk children between the ages of 4 and 16. They were supervised by myself on service projects, social outings and week long out of state camping trips. The internship gave me opportunities to conduct backyard Bible studies and to have more direct Read more contact with the children and their families. Not only am I skilled with young people but with the elderly as well. After working in public education, I served as assistant manager to an apartment community that only housed Senior Citizens. On a regular basis, we would perform welfare visits, arrange for services for them, and coordinated and advised families regarding the best care decisions. Sometimes we would run to their apartment to check their thermostats, the functionality of mobility devices and to see if they were with food and water.
