Hi! My name is Laura and I am originally from Mount Snow, Vermont. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree of Science in Social Work fromSalve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island and worked for the State Child Protective Agency as well as the Key Program, Inc - as an Outreach and Tracking Caseworker (working with at-risk youth as a mentor, case manager, tutor, etc.) I began babysitting in high school and throughout/post college for a variety of families. I spent the past five years living and working in San Francisco as full-time Nanny for a widowed father and his two girls (who are now teenagers and no longer need a Nanny). During my time with them, my duties included all those of every day care (i.e. grocery shopping and cooking meals, laundry and household chores, transportation to school/events, as well as general guidance and raising of the girls.) I also Read more worked with a few other families in SF on a part-time basis. While there, I studied and became a certified yoga instructor. While in Hawaii, I spend some of my time working in a community garden, teaching traditional Hawaiian practices (poi pounding!) at the local elementary schools, working part-time at the farmer's market for a wonderful local company and learning how to surf :)
