Mary Devine was a great help to us with our 19 month old daughter on our recent vacation. She has a great energy and spirit and we felt like our daughter was in great hands. She showed up with a suitcase full of toys, and even let us borrow a few toys between her visits. If you're vacationing on the South Shore of Kauai, we could not recommend Mary more as a sitter!

Mary was outstanding with our daughter. We were staying in a rental house in Kauai for a week and Mary came to watch her several times. She was flexible with her scheduling and our daughter just loved her. Mary brought a suitcase full of fun activities and toys and they really bonded. Our daughter still asks when Mary can come over. Next time we're in Kauai for sure! I can't recommend her enough.

While on vacation in Kauai at the end of January, my husband and I wanted a date-night and to dine at one of the island's nicer restaurants. It was a bit unnerving to consider because we didn't know any babysitters in the area; but we looked through area listings on Sittercity.com and settled on Mary. After talking to her a few times, we felt good about the situation and scheduled her for our last night in Hawaii. Mary showed up about an hour before our reservation so that we could all get to know each other before leaving her alone with our daughter for the first time. She brought a bag of toys & books that were age-appropriate with her -- which I thought was genius, especially for someone whose clients are mostly vacationers that are without a lot of their normal kid entertainment. Our baby took to her right away, and we felt so comfortable with her that we ended up leaving earlier than expected and were able to enjoy a surprise cocktail before our meal! While away, Mary sent a few little texts and even a couple pictures to let me know how their night was going... but nothing too intrusive as to interrupt our evening. And when we returned, our daughter was peacefully sleeping, the place was tidied up, and we had a nice, casual, follow-up conversation with Mary, too. Our only regret was that we didn't try Mary earlier, as we probably would have taken advantage of her services a few more times during our vacay had we known what excellent care she was going to give our darling daughter. We certainly intend to use her again if we are lucky enough to return to Kauai and would recommend her to anyone. ~The Johnsons

We hired Mary to babysit for our five-month old daughter while visiting Kauai last week. Mary was wonderful. She accomodated our unusual schedule requirements (since she was baby-sitting while we ran the marathon, she had to show up at 5 AM!). She came the day before to meet our daughter and us. She brought toys, books, and rattles for our baby (we didn't have much with us since we were visiting the island). She was extremely nice and we felt comfortable with her as soon as we met her. And our daughter also loved her. We look forward to hiring her again next time we visit Kauai!

My wife and I wanted to go out on our last night on Kauai and we needed a sitter for our 3- and 2-year-old daughters. It was almost a last-minute situation, but we contacted Mary the day before we needed her and she proved to be a great choice. She came over about an hour before my wife and I were to go out, with a great attitude and a suitcase full of toys and games for our girls. Mary jumped right into things, the girls took to her right away, and when we left for the night, everyone was happy. When we returned almost 4 hours later, Mary was reading bedtime stories to the girls. This was our first experience with Sittercity and it worked out great. We are happy to recommend Mary to anyone needing a sitter when they are on Kauai.
