I became a caregiver because ever since I was young I loved to help with kids, and as I got older I became more good with kids, but after working in a daycare I got lots more experience. Before I didnt know much like changing a diaper, making bottles, or what to do when the baby was fussy etc. But now ive learned all that I didnt know, I can understand a child and meet his or her needs. Its very interesting to see them grow and progress, my favorite expecially is once the baby learns hand and eye coordination, its fascinating to see them grab for things and be able to see it and know what to do next at a young age. From that to there first words, there first steps, there first birthday and them switching to new foods. I think its so amazing that I started Read more out not knowing really anything, to knowing exactly what to do, how to interact and provide for a child. Ive learned so much and am even more excited to learn more. I wouldn't say Im the best caregiver, i learn from mistakes everyday and keep note of them in my head so i can know how to approach a situation next time. But i would say good because I care for the children I take care of. It is very important that i make sure they are safe. And in good conditions, i always keep an eye on them because anything can happen that quick. Theres times where a teacher or myself would quickly go to change a diaper and a second later another child is trying to get a hold of another child not always intentionally but they dont realize that its a baby and they must be careful. I make sure that I follow any directions the parent has given me for there child and I always do my best to make sure I follow what they say. Someone only has to tell me something once and I will remember it. I am good with interacting with children, keeping them laughing and smiling. Some babies are a little harder to get to smile or laugh. Ive dealt with baby who always had a serious face. So that was really hard lol. But I do try to make fun with the children a couple times a day. I try to move fast, i dont have a baby crying for to long. I jump to my feet and do what I can. Of course it can be hard with many children but not everything is going to be super easy. I also watch other teachers/staff and learn quickly off of there actions. I plan to go to college and have a career where im dealing with kids! Some kids wanted to be a princess, a pop star or a super hero but me ive always wanted to be a teacher! And still do!
