Growing up, I had eight siblings. I was right in the middle with three younger brothers and many nights I was in charge of babysitting them. This began my love for taking care of children. My first job was at a daycare in which I got to feed and watch infants and toddlers. For the past year, I have worked at North Hills Preparatory School as and after school care staff. This allowed me time to work with students of many different ages and to interact with them with care, respect, and as a role model. I tutored students from a variety of grades and had to make sure to meet each of their different instructional levels. This past summer I worked at the Boys and Girls club in Twin Falls. The summer camp lasted three months and provided me with skills to create events and organize activities each day. Read more I also learned how to coordinate and supervise field trips. I interacted with both students and parents to smoothly run a camp with over 400 children from kindergarten to 8th grade. With proven leadership skills shown in several years of volunteering for the College of Southern Idaho Refugee Center, I am confident in my abilities to support, adapt, and lead in any fast-paced environment or with any team I am assigned. From my experiences, I know how to plan activities and events for youth while teaching them the qualities of a dedicated individual who wishes to make an impact on the lives of others. During my time of studying for a degree in Education, I have had several opportunities to volunteer and shadow at Texas schools several hours every week. I have been able to see many teacher and student interactions and how an organized and safe classroom runs. I am confident in my abilities to support students in many different situations and to lead in any place I am put in.
