I work full time as a writer/editor and am certified in CPR. I'm the mother of two (24-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter), an aunt to 13, and "older" cousin to more than 25, all of which adds up to many, many hours of babysitting under a wide variety of circumstances. I am experienced in dealing with ear infections, asthma, ADD, colic, sensory disorders, sprains, strains, broken bones, burns (sun and heat), fever, teething -- and boredom (a common malady in kids over the age of 7)! In addition to loving kids, I also immensely enjoy animals of all kinds (except lizards and snakes), so I can take care of any pets while I'm caring for your child(ren). Because of my job and volunteer responsibilities, I prefer to babysit on Friday nights, Saturdays or Sundays. I could also be available occasionally on a weekday night, schedule permitting. While I would not Read more be comfortable committing to a long-term schedule (six months or longer), I'm happy to consider shorter time commitments of up to plus/minus three months, especially over the summer months.
