Hello All, My name is Shermayne, I am a 22 year old college student studying at the Illinois Institute of Art in downtown Chicago. I have been babysitting for as long as I can remember. I recently starting babysitting again in the year 2012 for people in my neighborhood along with babysitting for students at school. I understand how difficult it is to work long hours, run errands, and try to have time for yourself when you have children involved, especially young children. I will be taking time off from school this summer so that I can work and get more involved with babysitting. I have taken lots of arts and crafts classes, so I know some fun things to do with your kid(s). I also love reading, science, and helping out with homework. I am in school for culinary arts and hospitality management, but I have always loved looking after children. Which is why I have taken 2 online classes at Harold Washington College for child development. In December 2014, I have renewed my First Aid and CPR certification. It gave me a lot of knowledge and first hand experience to know what to do in a particular situation. My method is to have fun while learning, which helps the brain obtain the learning material faster and easier. Children of all ages are no problem for me at all. I like being outdoors, so going for walks or having fun in the park will be thing I would like to be involved in.
